To carry out research in theoretical and applied plant ecology.
To study ecosystems of high economic value, and environmental protection, and the ecology of high valuable plants.
To participate in building the technological basis for studying plant ecology.
Carrying out the study of the structure and succession of different forest types and the ecology of higher plant species.
Studying and creating scientific basis for restoration of degraded vegetation and ecosystems.
Studying the floral diversity in the high-mountainous ecosystems of Viet Nam and propose measures for its conservation, development and exploitation.
Studing and applying the theory of system analysis, mathematical modeling, computer simulation and the theory of landscape ecology to ecological studies.
Finding an approach for arresting and preventing desertification in the south of central Viet Nam.
