Functions and tasks:

To research and survey on biodiversity of soil animals in Vietnam.

To study the structure and functions of soil ecosystems.

To research on the sustainable use and management of soil ecosystems.

To study on the scientific basic for using soil animals as bioindicators, for treatment of soil contamination, and soil restoration.

 

Activities:

Carrying out the research and survey the diversity of soil animals living in different ecosystems and the protected area system in Vietnam.

Carrying out the research on utilizing earthworms as decomposers in organic waste treating models.

Participating in compiling the fauna and databases of animals in Vietnam.

 

Cooperation:

FFI, BirdLife International, Royal Ontario Museum, Natural History Museum of Denmark.
